The presentation was in Four Parts, Team Leader did most of the presentation except for the ESIA (Environmental-Chishiba, Social-Chishiba ( on behalf of Mr Nkosha, Archaeological-Nyathi) and Client Requirements- Munankweka.
The presentation went on quite well and generated the intended questions from the stakeholders who ranged from ZIMRA,Police, EMA etc.
On some of the majors issues on Client requirements, Mr Munankwenka presented that most of the requirements can be accommodated by the current design of the OSBP. However, the Institutional Arrangements and Operational Procedures cautioned the stakeholders that existing Bilateral Agreement between Zambia and Botswana limits the Border Agencies to not more than 6 against the stakeholder figure of at least 15. They were advised to rationalize and delegate some work to some of the critical agencies. They should also mind the budgetary limitations.
With regards to the Modifications to the OSBP, the Client is yet to confirm which options they will go for in line with consultations with Zambia and Botswana and their budgetary constraints
